Drawings in Ink and pencil on watercolour paper. Some completed as a project in conjunction with Ukrainian Artists displaced by the war. The effect of war on the Ukrainian people was explored. With drawings focusing on peace, despair, conflict etc. Prints of these were sold at an exhibition at The Silk Mill, Frome, Somerset. This raised money to continue the project and take the exhibition to Ukraine.
Drawings are often precursors to Oil Paintings or Watercolours, because they are a good way to work out composition, make changes to and creation of ideas. They are also a peaceful way to pass the time. On trains, waiting rooms, on holiday. Caroline takes great joy in observing people about their day to day lives. A favourite pastime on holiday is to sit in a bar, with an appropriate drink and quietly sketch those around her.
